2025年4月1日，我中心王成斌博士在昆虫分类学期刊《The Indochina Entomologist》上报道了两种均产自我国广西大瑶山的球金龟新种：二郎神伛球金龟Cyphopisthes erlangshen Wang, 2025与林氏玛球金龟Madrasostes lini Wang, 2025。

球金龟是鞘翅目、驼金龟科Hybosoridae、球金龟亚科Ceratocanthinae昆虫的俗称，具有将身体卷成紧凑球状且各部分完美契合的非凡能力。全世界该亚科包括43个属、3个族，共计360余种。

中国的球金龟种类相对匮乏，本研究之前仅记录了6种。本研究首次记录了玛球金龟属MadrasostesPaulian, 1975在中国的分布。而且，这两个新发现的物种均采自山林原白蚁Hodotermopsis sjostedti Holmgren, 1911的蚁巢中，补充了对球金龟生物学的认知。
